The first days that your puppy separates from his mother and siblings will be a great shock. Therefore, when you take it home, you should pay full attention. If you can take the time to show it the new home, feed it and play with it
, that will help it feel happy and tired before going to sleep.

-Let it smell and explore
Start by letting your puppy smell everything and then show it his bed. Place a blanket from your old bed that smells pleasant
on your puppy's bed. Then let it explore his new environment at the pace it wants.

-Let your puppy sleep

-Starts to teach it to do his needs outside the house.
Don't get mad if pees on the carpet; You could make it feel insecure. Try to leave many sheets of newspaper. Don't forget to reward it whenever necessary.

-Gives time to accustom it
Try to leave the puppy alone. During the first nights, the puppy is likely to be restless and cry when left alone. One tip is to give it a hot water bottle and a clock on a blanket can reassure it a lot. But don't worry too soon, gets used to it.

If it's an adult dog ...

In this case it is very different. Because its already have its personality formed, the first thing it should do is ask its former caregiver, he will know how to treat it and can guide it so that he has the advantage of being able to meet the dog before his arrival.

Similarly, despite the precautions, the first night will be a sea of doubt for both you and the dog. It is difficult to predict how it will react to the change, especially if it has adopted a kennel dog.

The first night, the dog will be insecure and will miss his old home, but soon it will find his new space, so to increase his degree of security, it will give it  from the beginning his new corner. To create this space and prepare for a quiet night, you can continue.
